Welcome to my blog which shares anecdotes from my everyday life at Highclere Castle. Geordie and I took over the enormous privilege and pleasure of taking care of this iconic building in 2001. These days it is better known as the setting for the popular television programme and film "Downton Abbey" which has made it one of the most recognisable houses in the world.

The world of Highclere still has its own community of Chefs, Gardeners and Housekeepers as well as all the other people who make the "Real Downton Abbey" such a welcoming place today. My blog is my way of sharing the stories and heritage of this wonderful place and all the people and animals that live and work here so that you can get to know and love it as I do.
