Last week on a beautiful autumn evening we welcomed 200 guests to a cocktail reception in aid of a Kenyan Education Charity, which we support, called LangaLanga. www.langalanga.org.uk
It was started by an amazing English man who helped rebuild 14 primary schools and pay for secondary education of outstanding children each year and support them all the way through to university. It was very uplifting to hear that there were now Doctors, Engineers, Teachers and Nurses who could return to educate and look after their community, adding tremendous value to it, as well as an extraordinary sense of achievement for themselves.
Our guests were very generous, some even decided to sponsor a child and many kindly donated money.
The Castle looked beautiful and it was a great experience before all the guests returned home from the real Downton Abbey to watch the first episode of the long awaited fourth season of Downton Abbey on the television!
Thank you to everyone who came.

Great idea, and a worthy cause.
Aww, Aid for Africa is a wonderful:)
As one of the attendees of this event last week, traveling from the United States, I was very inspired not only by the most gracious welcome to your glorious home which we received, but by the tireless dedication and support that you and your husband give to this very important cause for the advancement of education in Africa. It was uplifting to hear that two of the recent honorees of the LangaLanga Scholarship are young women, wishing to become future doctors, who will receive educational funding through University. This endeavor will help these young women realize their potential, for their families and their communities.
Sincere thanks to you, Lady Carnarvon, and to Lord Carnarvon, Colonel Harry Vialou Clark, and his wife, Alison for all that you have done and continue to do for these very worthy children.

I had the privilege to be in attendance at this magical evening at Highclere Castle. A devoted fan of Downton Abbey, as well as a self-proclaimed “Anglophile”, I am a retired teacher dedicated to literacy for all. I am happy to know that my journey to the UK from the United States included a contribution to this worthy cause. Thank you for allowing me this pleasure.

I, too, had the privilege to be here at this wonderful event on the evening of September 18th.
Not only was the Castle beyond my wildest imaginations, all of the staff and personnel went above and beyond to make us all feel so welcome.
So glad to hear that the event that we attended truly will help to change the lives of people through the LangaLanga Scholarship Fund. When it all is boiled down, that is what giving and caring is all about!
Thank you for an unforgettable evening and for your generosity to all of us who were in attendance on those wonderful night.
Sincerely,
